Mr. Writer (and his cat, Scratchy)
Mr. Writer (AKA Ahmed H. Sharma) is a Historian, Educator, and Journalist.
Born and raised in Houston, TX he attended University of Houston where he received Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of Houston. Currently, he resides in San Antonio, TX where he received a Master’s Degree in History at the University of Texas in San Antonio.
His main research interests are 20th century Race, Ethnicity, and Islamic identity. Currently, he is examining the understudied impact African American Muslims have had in Houston in the late twentieth century.
Other historical areas of interest include: 20th century Political History, Urban History, Metropolitan History, History of Emotions, African American Studies, Islamic Studies, Contemporary Islamic Thought, Intellectual History, and Historical Memory.
He also volunteers as a Citizen Historian for The 1947 Partition Archive, where he has recorded survivors and witnesses of the separation between India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
As a journalist, he works as a writer for News4SanAntonio and FoxSanAntonio. Simultaneously, he is a contributes as a volunteer Staff Writer for AsAm News . In both respects, he has written from soft news such as entertainment, to hard-hitting news involving politics and social awareness.

Mr. Writer is also an avid film-buff. He enjoys drama, comedy, crime films, psychological thrillers, romance and lately, the super-hero films Marvel has been releasing.
Musical interests include Blues, Rock and Roll, 90’s and late 80’s hip hop and rap music.
When he is not writing, his hobbies include spending time with family, friends, and his cats, reading, watching plays, listening to music, watching and collecting movies.
