Mr. Writer (is not as cool as he thinks he is in this picture)

Mr. Writer (AKA Ahmed H. Sharma) is a Young Scholar, Blogger and Historian (in-the making). He is also a Citizen Historian for The 1947 Partition Archive, a self-proclaimed: Writer, Reviewer, Commentator, and Student Activist, born and raised in Houston, TX.  He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of Houston, where he minored in Philosophy. Currently, he resides in San Antonio, TX where he is pursuing a Master’s Degree in History at the University of Texas in San Antonio.

His main research interests are exploring Islamic Communities and Muslim minority movements around the world. Currently he is examining the Nation of Islam’s presence in Metropolitan Cities like New York, Chicago, and Houston and their transition to Sunni/Orthodox Islam.

Other historical areas of interest include: Twentieth Century Race & Ethnicity in the United States (with a concentration on Africana Identity in Islam) and Late Nineteenth & Early Twentieth Century Ethnic and Religious Identity in South Asia, Urban History,  Islamic Studies, African American Studies, History of Emotion, Intellectual History, Atlantic Piracy, Civil War & Reconstruction Era History, Race & Ethnicity in the United States, Religion & Gender discrimination in the United States,  Imperialism, Colonialism and Political Globalization in South Asia and the Middle East, Colorism in the United States & India, and Philosophical History.

His philosophical interests are the study of Ethics, Philosophy of Film, Philosophy of Religion,  Metaphysics, Existentialism and Aesthetics.

When he is not writing, his hobbies include spending time with family, friends, and his cat, reading, watching plays, listening to music, watching and collecting movies.
